To everyone at Hawaiian Fire, Thanks.
My family and I had the pleasure and joy of being instructed by you experts in August of '06. And not only are you experts in surfing, but you're also "people" experts. It's now more than a year and 2 months since our surfing lesson and we still find ourselves remembering that day with profound joy. There's a good reason for that.
Although I cannot remember his name, a young instructor taught my son how to surf. This was very special to my wife and me. You see, our son has a form of autism that makes him somewhat clumsy. His confidence and social skills are also lacking. Not so that day. Your instructor taught him "one on one" and in no time took him out on the waves. I was surprised to see that he did not surf on the same board with my son (as he did with the other kids) but allowed him to do it himself. And he did it! He stayed up on that board until he reached the beach. Then he paddled out again and did it again. One time he took a nasty spill and I thought that was it. But he got right back on that board and did it again. You're not going to believe this, but in the school year that followed he became an "A" honor student. You people changed his life. And ours. If you ask my son what was the best time he ever had on any vacation, he'll always say it was the day he surfed. And he's done a lot of things. You gave him confidence in himself and it went on to change him. I know it was also the spirit of the islands that helped him out of his shell, but we all know that it happened on that day of surfing with Hawaiian Fire. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dino Pfund
